How content on this site is written, checked, and corrected.
Onlinebillchecker.pk is an independent, one-person website run by Bareera, its founder. Because readers use this site to understand real bills and real money, this page explains — plainly — where the information comes from, how it’s checked, and what happens when something turns out to be wrong.
Who Writes the Content
Every guide, FAQ, and tool description on this site is researched, written, and published by Bareera. There is no content team and no guest posting — which means there’s also exactly one person responsible when something is wrong, and you can reach her directly.
Writing and editing software may be used in drafting, the same way any writer uses tools — but no page goes live on the strength of a tool’s output. Every fact is checked against the official source and every procedure is walked through on a real bill before publishing, as described below. Responsibility for what’s published rests with the author, not with any tool.
How Information Is Verified
Tariffs, procedures, and company details in Pakistan’s power sector change often. Before anything is published or updated here, it goes through these checks:
- Official sources only: Tariff slabs, FPA adjustments, and taxes are taken from NEPRA’s published notifications, and procedures from the DISCOs’ own official websites. The full list is on our Sources & References page.
- Tested on a real bill: Step-by-step guides are performed personally with a real reference number before publishing — if a step doesn’t work in practice, it doesn’t get published.
- No speculation: Rumoured tariff changes or unannounced price adjustments are not published. If NEPRA hasn’t notified it, it isn’t on this site.
How Pages Are Kept Updated
Whenever NEPRA announces a tariff change or Fuel Price Adjustment, the calculator and affected pages are updated, and the “last updated” date shown on those pages changes with them. If a DISCO changes its website or procedure, the related guide is rewritten once the new process has been verified. The date on a page is your indicator of how current its information is — if a page’s date looks old for fast-moving information like tariffs, treat it with caution and check the official source.
Corrections
Mistakes happen — a tariff figure can go stale, a DISCO can change a process quietly. The policy here is simple: reported errors are reviewed within 1–2 working days, and confirmed corrections go live immediately. There is no penalty for pointing out a mistake; corrections are treated as contributions, and significant ones are acknowledged on the corrected page.
If any figure on this site conflicts with your DISCO’s bill or NEPRA’s notification, the official source is correct and this site should be fixed — please report it.
